DERMAL FILLERS

The use of dermal fillers have been used for many years . Most products are largely made of Hyaluronic Acid, a product which is naturally found within the body thus making them less likely to cause allergic reaction.
Dermal fillers are injected via a fine needled syringe into the skin as an anti ageing treatment and can help eliminate fine lines, wrinkles and indentations . Placing filler in the correct places you are able to bring back a more youthful appearance . Dermal fillers are also a great way of contouring and enhancing your features by adding volume and shape. It is also possible to achieve correctional procedures to the nose and face to create asymmetry.
Different dermal fillers and techniques are used according to facial area , and the clients skin.

Facial Contouring

The Main Reasons People Get Cheek Filler

1. Lost Volume Due to Age: “They notice their cheeks seem deflated or under projected. This is because they’ve lost healthy, youthful contours in the midface. Re-volumizing the cheeks with filler restores shape to the face.

2. Pronounced Nasolabial Fold, also referred to as smile lines, are the lines that stretch from our nose to mouth. As we age, we lose volume and firmness, which causes drooping and pronounced nasolabial folds. It’s one of the biggest giveaways of our age.

3. Cosmetic Enhancement: You probably noticed that a lot more people are getting cheek filler who aren’t experiencing major signs of aging — as in people in their early 20s and 30s. This is simply a cosmetic choice to create more definition  in the face,

Jaw and chin and cheek filler has become an increasingly popular treatment to create the perfect contour to the face .

Why do we lose volume in the jaw and chin area, and what does this look like?

Genetically some people have a small or weak jawbone or chin, whereas others lose volume through the ageing process.

As we age we lose bone in our skull – our cheeks deflate which mean that facial fat drops downwards with gravity. The bone loss in our jaw means that the lower face no longer has a strong framework, and our skin and fat can hang loosely with no tension in them. This can mean the face looks saggy and ‘jowly’, and the chin can look more square, the neck looks looser and like we have developed a ‘double chin’.

This treatment is performed on people of all ages. Chin and jawline enhancement is a popular treatment in younger clients who have a genetically weaker jaw or chin, or who like the latest defined, contoured look. It’s also popular in more mature patients who have lost the strength of their jawline through ageing. In the more mature clients the cheeks also need to be addressed to ensure to give the soft tissues of the face enough support and to give the desired look.

Does Dermal fillers pose any  risks or side effects?

A small amount of bruising, tenderness and swelling are the most common side effects . This is minor and short-lived though.  Paracetamol can be taken if needed. An ice pack can help reduce swelling.

Can Dermal fillers be dissolved if you are not happy with the results?

The fillers I use is a hyaluronic acid and  can be dissolved. However, dissolving filler does carry its own risks, and as such I would always advise against it unless it is absolutely needed.
